Privacy Policy
How we approach personal information, learning accounts and children's privacy
Replace every [BRACKETED FIELD] with verified operator information. Confirm that the operational practices described below are actually implemented.
01 Who is responsible for this policy
This policy covers the ClearIAS Junior website, enquiries and the personal information handled in connection with the ClearIAS Junior Foundation Course, to the extent managed by [LEGAL_ENTITY_NAME] (referred to as “ClearIAS Junior”, “we”, “us” and “our”).
Business address: [FULL_BUSINESS_ADDRESS]
Privacy contact: [PRIVACY_EMAIL]
Telephone: +91 9605741000.
If an enrolment or a lesson is delivered through a separate website or provider, its own privacy information may also apply. We should identify those providers and their roles in the final published version of this policy.
02 Who the programme is for
ClearIAS Junior is a supplementary online learning programme for school students in Classes 3–12. Many users are children under 18. Parents or lawful guardians should supervise account creation, enquiries, enrolment and participation as appropriate.
We will use age-appropriate notices and obtain any necessary parental permission for children’s information and activities, in accordance with law as the relevant provisions come into force. A child should not submit sensitive information or upload identifiable images or recordings without a parent or guardian’s involvement.
03 Information that may be collected
- Parent and contact information: name, phone, email and messages submitted for an enquiry or purchase.
- Student and enrolment information: name, class or age band, the course joined, account identifiers and course-access information where required.
- Payment-related information: transaction identifiers, amounts, status, receipts and support requests. Card or banking credentials should be handled by the relevant payment provider, not collected via ordinary messages.
- Learning and participation records: attendance, questions, assignments, assessment progress and workshop communications, where those facilities are used.
- Technical information: basic device/browser data, server logs and cookies necessary to operate and secure the website, and any optional analytics tools actually enabled.
Do not request identity documents, detailed health records or other sensitive information from a child unless there is a specific legitimate need, suitable safeguards and appropriate permissions.
04 Why information is used
- To answer parent enquiries and assess course suitability.
- To create and administer enrolment and learning accounts, and deliver purchased lessons and resources.
- To send payment receipts, course schedules, access messages and essential service updates.
- To organise online classes, permitted learning activities and progress/support interactions.
- To keep services secure, resolve disputes, comply with applicable legal obligations and improve our educational service responsibly.
- To send optional promotional communications only with an appropriate lawful basis and any required consent; recipients may request that such communications stop.
05 Children, consent and parental choices
Parents and guardians should be told what student information is necessary, why it is used and how to contact us. We aim to minimise personal data about children, avoid unnecessary public exposure, and use separate permission where required for promotional use of a child’s image, voice, work or testimonial.
Parental consent and verification processes, including any obligations under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act and Rules as they become applicable, must be implemented through operational controls—not merely by displaying this policy.
06 Video lessons, workshops and third parties
Online classes and demonstrations may involve platforms or links such as the course-learning platform, videoconferencing services, YouTube and WhatsApp. These providers may receive relevant technical or account information when you use their services. Their own terms and privacy notices may apply. Embedded videos may set provider-related cookies or collect viewing/device information.
Before publication: list the actual learning management system, payment provider, videoconferencing tool, analytics/advertising tools and any other material processors used by this site in a separate transparent provider disclosure.
07 Cookies and website technology
Cookies and similar technologies can support essential website operation, saved preferences, performance measurement and embedded media. The site operator must identify the technologies actually deployed and, where required, offer suitable consent and preference controls. Browser settings may let visitors restrict some cookies, although that can affect functionality.
We do not claim that the site is cookie-free. If advertising pixels, cross-site analytics or behavioural tracking are used, particularly in relation to children, they require a separate privacy and compliance assessment.
08 Sharing, storage and security
Information may be shared with service providers only as needed for legitimate course delivery, technical support, payment or legal obligations. We do not authorise staff, faculty or learners to publish another child’s personal details without suitable permission.
We aim to apply appropriate access controls, administrative safeguards and reasonable security practices. No internet service can promise absolute security. Information should be retained only for justified operational, legal and accounting periods, then removed or de-identified as appropriate.
09 Your requests and complaints
Parents or eligible individuals may contact [PRIVACY_EMAIL] to request applicable access, correction, withdrawal of consent, deletion or information about processing. We may need to verify the requester and may retain some records where legally necessary.
Unresolved privacy or data-protection concerns can be raised using the grievance details on the Contact page or through remedies available under applicable law.
10 Updates
We may update this policy to reflect changes in actual systems, services or law. Material changes should be explained clearly and communicated where appropriate. This document should show the date on which the approved policy is first published.
